When you are in college and you want to lose some weight, it can be very difficult – with all the college parties, outings, dates, classes and exam stress. Pack your own lunch

Most college cafeterias doesn’t supply healthy lunches – most of the foods is either deep fried or carbs and sugar laden. Make sure that you stick to your diet by packing your own lunch and keeping it in a cool box until you want to eat it.

Watch your drinks

Having a few drinks too many happen very easily when you are young and in college. But this is bad news to your figure – alcohol contains lots of empty calories. Stick to low calorie alcohol alternatives and don’t have more than 3 drinks an evening.

Prepare lots of healthy meals in the weekends

Studying until the wee hours can leave little time to prepare dinner and the take away menu might be more attractive than cooking up something. Combat this by making lots of healthy meals on the weekend and freezing it for the next week.

Snack smart

When you are stressed for exams, you are more likely to snack on unhealthy snacks. You can still snack, but make it healthier snacks like nuts, fruits, whole wheat crackers, veggie sticks and fat free yogurt.

Make time for regular exercise

You have to find time in your busy schedule to exercise otherwise you won’t lose weight. Have a look at your schedule and see where you can fit regular exercise in. Mark that time as an appointment you have to meet.

Limit the fast food and treats

Make sure that you don’t eat too many fast foods or other treats when you want to lose weight. Rather have a cheat meal per month or so where you can have what you like.
