With all of the crap that is sold in the weight loss industry, it is no wonder that people have concerns about whether or not it is really possible to lose weight fast. It’s always good to go by the principle that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. That is true for a lot of weight loss products because they are just scams. They aren’t helping you to get thinner, and they are making someone’s wallet fatter. But, I am here to tell you that you really can lose weight fast, but it will be hard work. You’ll need dedication, proper exercise and proper nutrition. Combine all of these elements and the weight loss can be yours.
Many people want to just run on the treadmill or run for miles outside to lose weight, but you’ll hit a plateau quickly when doing just this. Cardio is a great for a warmup, but if that’s all you do, your body won’t burn nearly as many calories as it can with other methods. Those other methods are called resistance training. You can use free weights, weight machines, resistance bands and your own body weight to get resistance on your muscles. That resistance tears your muscles down, and they grow back stronger. This increased lean muscle mass is what helps you to burn fat at a faster rate than just doing cardio alone.
But, strength training, while important, isn’t the only step. Nutrition is definitely important too. Notice that I don’t use the word diet, because that has many negative connotations. Yes, you’ll need to eat less calories, and yes you’ll need to stay away from fatty foods, but if you can find good foods such as lean meats and vegetables, and find recipes that keep the calories down, then you can enjoy these foods, not be starving yourself, and still be losing weight.
It takes a lot of hard work, but if you can master these areas, then you’ll be mastering your weight and it’ll be coming right off pretty quick. It’s not easy, but it’s possible, so good luck on your journey!
