How to Lose a Muffin Top

If you are one of the increasing number of people who are struggling with how to lose belly fat for good, then you might want to know that it is possible to finally lose the weight and keep it off; even that pesky belly fat or muffin top.

Losing belly fat is no different than losing weight in any other part of your body, the only problem is, it often seems to be more prominent and visible. We have also been led to believe that there are certain exercises or programs that will effectively help us finally lose belly fat and get rid of that bulge in our mid-section. The truth is no amount of dieting or exercise can actually target a specific area of the body. That’s right; you can not single out where you are going to lose pounds and inches.

You can do all the tummy crunches and sit-ups you want, and while it will certainly burn calories and strengthen those abs, the layer of fat will remain in place until you begin to lose weight. The good news is that once you start to lose weight, most people will lose proportionately more fat from their stomach than other parts of the body.

So, if you are looking for a quick fix for belly bulge the best thing you can do is start a low-calorie diet that includes lean proteins, fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy. Research has also linked the use of whole-grain products to a reduction in belly fat, another great reason to include these wonderful whole-grains in your healthy diet plan.

It is also important to increase the amount of physical activity you get on a daily basis. You can start out by increasing the number of steps you take each day, this can be a healthy and fun challenge. Simply get a pedometer, a little device that will measure the number of steps you take, wear the pedometer for a few days and get the average number of steps you take daily. Once you have this number, challenge yourself to increase it by 5% – 10% each day until you reach 10,000 steps every day.

Not only will you feel better, but the results will have you looking great!
